Il diffidente

I carugi sono scuri e con un filo di umido che suda dai muri, oggi la pioggia ha concesso qualche ora di tregua alle strade intasate di fango e i sassi rotolano cacofonici su quello che rimane dell'asfalto mangiato dall'acqua. La strada in paese sembra un quadro, poche pennellate scure e solo uno spruzzo di giallo qua e là. Entro dal Marlin, e Jack mi accoglie con un Long Island, fatto come piace a me, poco Tequila e tanto Gin. Gioca il Milan stasera e Jack se lo guarderà sull'iPad in streaming, turno gramo quello da mezzogiorno alle dieci.

Ma il Milan non è tutto, lui tifa Barça e mentre me lo dice quasi sussurrando, dal buio entrano Fabrizio e Alessandro. "Due francesini. Bianchi." Intimano.

Il francesino qui è l'unità di misura del vino.

Un gotto solo a due spiagge di distanza, un'ombra dall'altra parte dello stivale.

Fabrizio è già sbronzo…mi guarda: "E tu chi cazzo sei?"

"Dai!" ribatto io "Ci siamo conosciuti a carnevale, due settimane fa, eri vestito da prete"

"Da suora." ribatte lui serio.

La cosa mi spiazza un po', sorrido e gli metto una mano sulla spalla.

I bicchieri sono alzati senza brindisi e Alessandro è un po' teso.

Fabrizio, di nuovo:" No...perché sai il mio nome, mi tocchi, fai battute. Ci conosciamo?"

Non ho un piano B, potrei sempre offrirgli un altro bicchiere, ma non so se sia una buona idea.

"Be'" dico io "abbiamo fatto due chiacchiere l'altro giorno, proprio ieri ho incontrato tuo fratello un paio di volte. A proposito chi dei due fa quelle belle sculture con i sassi?"

"Tu sai troppe cose, chi te le ha dette? Mio fratello? Mio fratello parla troppo, io parlo poco e solo con chi mi piace. Siamo parenti, ma non spartiamo molto"

"Tu sei di qui?"

"No di Ravenna, dalla parte dell'altro mare"

Ci pensa su un attimo, poi mi fissa di traverso con l'occhio socchiuso.

Si bagna la lingua come a ungere le parole.

"Ho capito, tu sei Stamperlini, del Conventino. Ecco chi sei, ecco l'accento. Potevi dirlo subito. Che io parlo poco e solo con chi conosco. Degli altri non mi interessa."

Mi guarda dritto, ho quasi paura che mi tiri un pugno.

Invece mi abbraccia forte, il bicchiere vacilla e mi bagna la schiena.

Alessandro si rilassa, si rolla una paglia ed esce in strada.

Sento che Fabrizio sorride mentre mi stringe.

Mentre si stacca rovescia quello che rimane del pigato e in un orecchio mi dice:

"Ok, adesso ho capito chi sei, ma non so se siamo già in confidenza."
